In fact, I know a few that print and sell objects on eBay using lower resolutions, while the strength of the PLA plastic in the cartridges I used was impressive too - easily good enough for abused and battered GoPro mounts and the like. The higher resolution does increase print times substantially but it also provides a good enough finish to satisfy most people. The best things about the Cube 3 are that it's practically idiot-proof but there's also huge scope for developing your skills by creating your own objects.
In particular, a hobby of mine that involves modifying PC cases, otherwise known as PC modding, benefits hugely from 3D printing - you can create logos, buttons and even entire fan grilles to snazz-up your PC case. I've printed all-manner of useful objects including a lens cap holder for for DSLR that threads onto the camera strap - genius and an iPhone 6 tripod mount and I'm constantly finding new things in the various online object databases.
Having spent a few weeks with the Cube 3 I can honestly say that I've gotten very used to having a 3D printer in the house. To get through only an hour of video material took over a week of watching, pausing, rewinding, playing, etc., while at the same time trying to make sense of the demonstrated functions in Rhino.The nozzle wipers work to clear excess material, which is deposited in containers on either side of.
That is not to say that it only took an hour and twenty minutes to get proficient with CAD modelling! Far from it.
